Specialty Metals Resource System (SMRSsm)
|
 |
SMRSsm was designed for outsourcing. Unlike anything available
on the market, SMRSsm empowers your inside sales force by automating the
quote and RFQ process.
|
 |
Any good salesperson can use the system and your only investment is an Internet connection, preferably
a high speed, DSL line.
|
 |
At it’s most basic level, SMRSsm is an automated metals outsourcing
program, driving email and fax RFQs to a metal buyer's favorite suppliers. Its designed to save an
enormous amount of time and money in identifying and contacting suppliers.
|
 |
Rather than spending hours on the phone with suppliers, checking availability and getting prices on
out-sourced materials, SMRSsm automatically drives RFQs to your top
suppliers.
|
 |
With full integration, however, SMRSsm is a turn key system that
totally automates the way you sell metals. SMRSsm is the answer to
the question – how are we to survive in the eBusiness age?
|
 |
The system can be installed as a stand alone utility, allowing your inside sales force to efficiently
field and close sales, or, it can be integrated into your company sales process AND website, where
your customers do the work in building an RFQ. The system then automatically identifies suppliers,
sends the RFQs and forwards the original RFQ to your sales force.
|
 |
In stand alone mode, here’s how it works:
- A customer calls or faxes an RFQ to your inside sales force.
- The inside sales person goes directly to the transaction page and identifies the customer, or,
if this is a new customer, sets up a new listing.
- As the customer reveals his requirements, the inside sales person keys the RFQ into the SMRSsm
online screen. The system tells your sales person exactly what product forms and sizes are available and who
sells it. If the size that the customer needs (say 317L 28” Diameter bar) is not available, the system prompts
the sales person with an “Idea File” that suggests alternates – How long are the pieces, can the customer
use cut plate? Could the customer use an open die forging?
- Once suppliers are identified, the inside sales person completes the online RFQ by filling in the
customer’s size, quantity, delivery, tolerance and specification requirements.
- With a single click, fax and/or email RFQs fire off to suppliers. At the same moment, an email and fax copy
of the original RFQ is forwarded to your company sales force, detailing the RFQ and specifying the suppliers
that SMRSsm has sent the RFQ to. This document also contains phone and fax
numbers for these suppliers, so your sales force can follow up if necessary.
- Suppliers call or fax prices back to your inside sales force.
- Your sales force contacts the client with pricing and takes the order.
|
 |
In fully integrated mode, here’s how it works:
- Customers come to your website and click on the SMRSsm
button.
- Customers select the Family, Grade and Product form of the material they require.
- Customers specify the exact size, quantity, specification and delivery requirement for
the material they require.
- In the background, SMRSsm searches for YOUR suppliers
of this material, and when the customer hits “Send”, SMRSsm
automatically sends RFQ faxes to these suppliers on your behalf.
- At the same moment, an email and fax copy of the original RFQ is forwarded to your
company sales force, detailing the RFQ and specifying the suppliers that
SMRSsm has sent the RFQ to. This document also contains
phone and fax numbers for these suppliers, so your sales force can follow up if necessary.
- Suppliers call or fax prices back to your inside sales force.
- Your sales force contacts the client with pricing and takes the order.
|
Additional modules can be built into the SMRSsm system that allow your sales force to go online
and post their offers to allow customers to place orders on your website. With this addition,
you can begin to build a data file that contains metal pricing and sales history – powerful
information to maximize your company’s effectiveness in many areas.
|
 |
SMRSsm is no pipe dream, it is available today and can be
configured for your company in a matter of weeks.
