Heat Treatability
The stress relieving temperature of this alloy is 500 F or 260 C. The time at temperature is one hour per inch of section thickness. This alloy does respond to heat treatment. The solution heat treating temperature is between 1425 and 1475 F or 775 and 800 C. The time at temperature is two hours per inch of section thickness. The quenching medium is water. The precipitation hardening temperature is between 580 and 620 F or 305 and 325 C. The time at temperature is five hours. And the quenching medium for precipitation hardening temperature is air.
Machinability
The machinability rating of this alloy is 30, as cast and 20, at heat treated. (Where Alloy 360 FC Brass is 100).

Soldering of this alloy is rated as "excellent", brazing is rated as "excellent", oxyacetylene welding is rated as "fair", carbon arc welding is "not recommended", gas shielded arc welding is rated as "good", and coated metal arc welding is rated as "good".
