Heat Treatability
The stress relieving temperature of this alloy is 500 F or 260 C. The time at temperature is one hour per inch of section thickness. This alloy does respond to heat treatment. The precipitation hardening temperature is between 580 and 620 F or 305 and 325 C. The time at temperature is six to ten hours. And the quenching medium for precipitation hardening temperature is air.
Machinability
The machinability rating of this alloy is 50, as cast and 40, at heat treated. (Where Alloy 360 FC Brass is 100).

Weldability
Soldering of this alloy is rated as "excellent", brazing is rated as "excellent", oxyacetylene welding is rated as "fair", carbon arc welding is "not recommended", gas shielded arc welding is rated as "good", and coated metal arc welding is rated as "good".
