Annealing Procedure
The annealing temperature for this alloy is between 1150 and 1225 F or 620 and 660 C. The time at temperature is one hour per inch of section thickness.
Heat Treatability
The stress relieving temperature of this alloy is 600 F or 316 C. The time at temperature is one hour per inch of section thickness. This alloy does respond to heat treatment. The solution heat treating temperature is between 1585 and 1635 F or 860 and 890 C. The time at temperature is one hour per inch of section thickness. The quenching medium is water or oil depending on the design.
Machinability
The machinability rating of this alloy is 50. (Where Alloy 360 FC Brass is 100).
