Applications

Used in heavy-duty mechanical components, including bearings. Also used for valve stems and pump components.

The capacity for cold working this alloy is rated as "poor".

Forgeability

The hot forgeability rating of this alloy is 100. (Forging Brass=100). The recommended hot working temperature for this alloy is between 1100 and 1250 F.

Hot Workability

This alloy's capacity for being hot formed is rated as "excellent".

Machinability

The machinability rating of this alloy is 25. (Where Alloy 360 FC Brass is 100).

Bronzes (Copper-Zinc). Versatile hot forgeable alloy combining high strength and good corrosion resistance.

Weldability

Soldering of this alloy is rated as "fair", brazing is rated as "good", oxyacetylene welding is "not recommended", gas shielded arc welding is rated as "fair", coated metal arc welding is "not recommended", spot welding is rated as "good", seam welding is rated as "good", and butt welding is rated as "good".
