Covered by ASTM A242 Type 1, A588 Grade A, A871 Grade 60 & 65 and ASTM A709 Grade 50W, this alloy is commonly known as "corten" (a tradename of US Steel). The product represents a family of HSLA steels with improved corrosion resistance over ASTM A6 steels.
