Titanium ATI 425® Alloy
Buy MetalFormability
Even though ATI 425 Alloy is classified as a high-strength alloy, it can be cold-worked quite easily compared, for example, to Ti-6Al-4V (6-4 titanium). An alpha-beta alloy that uses iron in place of vanadium as a beta stabilizer, ATI 425 Alloy’s lower aluminum content and higher oxygen and iron content combine to give it its combination of ductility and tensile strength. As a result, the formability of ATI 425® Alloy makes it useful in high-strength applications that require roll-forming and bending.
Principle Design Features
ATI 425® Alloy is a strong, ductile, cold-formable titanium alloy available in a variety of product forms, including continuous cold-rolled sheet. Originally developed by ATI for ballistic armor applications, it has recently been characterized for aerospace and industrial applications, including publication in the MMPDS handbook. ATI 425® Alloy is produced in a variety of product forms, including sheet, coil, strip, Precision Rolled Strip® and foil, plate, seamless tube, shapes and rectangles, as well as castings.
